Wins $30,000 Playing Blackout Bingo Scratch Game
Danielle Cole, manager of an Odenton pizza shop, asked a coworker for a favor earlier this week, hoping that he’d be able to cash a scratch-off for her after dropping off an order. Ms. Cole was excited about the $500 she’d won playing the Blackout Bingo instant game and was anxious for her friend to return. When he did, the surprise he “delivered” completely floored her.
“He walked in the shop and said ‘brace yourself,’” Danielle told officials. “I had no idea what was going on. That’s when he told me that the ticket wasn’t worth $500, but $30,000.” A frequent player, she’d picked up her Blackout Bingo game on the way into work hoping to win back what she’d paid. “I thought I was as excited as I could be by the $500 I thought I had coming, it would have been the most I’d ever won. $30,000 has me in complete shock.”
The 27 year-old mom still didn’t believe her luck when she visited Lottery Headquarters several days later to claim her prize. She and her daughter will be shopping for a new car soon. “Not new-new,” she explained. “A nice used car that’ll be ‘new’ to us. I plan to take very good care of this money.” Danielle’s lottery luck was waiting for her at the Odenton Hess station at 1518 Annapolis Road.
