August Mega Millions Ticket Yields January Joy

Baltimore Man Claims $250,000 Mega Millions Prize Months after Purchase

Mega Millions with MegaplierThe 46-year-old Baltimore man appeared unfazed by his $250,000 Mega Millions win.  Expressing little emotion, the single dad recounted his discovery of some old Lottery tickets. “I was watching the play-off game yesterday and happened to go into my dresser drawer,” said the UPS driver. The occasional Lottery player buys tickets every once in a while, particularly when the jackpots get big. He bought his winning ticket back in August, right before leaving on vacation.

Since he was none too pleased with Green Bay’s dominance on the football field, the man decided to take a trip to the store, bringing along his found Lottery tickets.  “I figured that they were expired,” said the calm winner. With no expectations, he scanned one ticket to reveal a $2 win. He then scanned another and the machine said “Take to Lottery”. Still unperturbed, he went home and checked his numbers on mdlottery.com.

Even upon revealing the size of his Mega Millions prize, the man remained stoic. He did let his guard down briefly when contemplating winning the entire jackpot, saying, “So close, yet so far. I missed by one number.”

The winner intends to put “the money in the bank and let it sit there a couple years.”  He also plans a day out with his 16-year-old daughter to do “whatever she wants to do.”  The winning ticket was purchased at Royal Farm #112, located at 3505 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
