Pasadena Man Wins $50,000 Taxes-Paid Prize on Dream Green Scratch-off
Just the other day, while fishing with his nephew, 63-year-old James Saghy was saying how he always comes close, but never wins the big one. “Maybe someone up there does not like us,” he said to his nephew. James changed his tune today when he revealed his $50,000 taxes-paid prize playing the Dream Green scratch-off.
The lucky Pasadena man bought the ticket while playing Racetrax at his local Lottery retailer. “First I bought a Bingo scratch-off,” said James. “I won $5 on that, so I cashed it in and got the Dream Green ticket.” James proceeded to scratch his ticket there in the store. “I revealed the black hat that said win prize automatically,” he said. “When I saw the amount underneath, I thought, this must be a trick ticket.” The cashier verified the win and James then contacted some family members to share the news.
The retired employee of Gable Signs, who now works part time making pharmaceutical deliveries, was accompanied to Lottery Headquarters by his fishing-companion to claim his prize. With a cruise already planned, James intends to use some of his winnings towards his trip. The father-of-one also plans to pay off a few major bills that have been weighing on him. “Now, I can be worry-free,” said James with a smile. The scratch-off ticket was purchased at the Cigarette Depot located at 8111 Ft. Smallwood Rd. in Anne Arundel County.
