Baltimore Carpenter Nails $10,000 Scratch-off Win

Claims top prize on Big Play Crossword game

186-Big-Play-Crossword-ITVM_P2-blueA Baltimore carpenter who plays only Maryland Lottery instant tickets just nailed his latest big win on one of his favorite games, the Big Play Crossword scratch-off.

The Vietnam native, a U.S. citizen for 25 years, plays scratch-offs several times each week, especially on weekends, and usually enjoys good results. He just visited Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim a $10,000 prize.

“I won $5,000 two years ago and $5,000 last year,” he said. “I sort of hoped, sort of expected it to happen again, so this win wasn’t really a surprise – but the $10,000 certainly was!”

While the 51-year-old enjoys playing every kind of scratch-off the Lottery offers, his favorite games are the crossword scratch-offs. “I very much enjoy the Big Play Crossword game and when I saw the message on the scanner telling me that I’d have to go to the Lottery office, I enjoyed it even more,” he said.

His prize will finance some long-needed repairs to the family car and boost the family’s savings. “I also plan to give part of the winnings to my wife to enjoy,” said the happy winner.

The $10 Big Play Crossword game has 11 more $10,000 winners in the stores as well as four $100,000 top prizes. Who knows, maybe the Morrell Park Deli at 2527 Washington Boulevard in the city, where our carpenter found his good fortune, has more winners in stock.
