Baltimore City Player Claims $50,000 Prize from Historic Powerball Drawing

Quick-pick ticket leads to third-tier prize

An anonymous Baltimore City man claimed a $50,000 prize won the day of the historic Jan. 20 Powerball  drawing. That drawing produced a $731.1 million winning jackpot, which was Maryland’s largest Powerball jackpot win ever. It also produced a $2 million second-tier winner and three $50,000 third-tier winners.

This happy 70-year-old is one of those three happy players. He had visited a Catonsville deli just a day before the epic drawing. The Powerball fan let the terminal quick pick a set of random numbers for his $2 ticket, which matched four of the winning numbers and the Powerball.

Congratulations to our player and to his lucky Lottery retailer, RC Rodgers Gourmet Deli located at 900 Frederick Road in Catonsville.
