Baltimore City Retailer Sells $2 Million Powerball Ticket

Player added Power Play to double the second-tier prize

Check your Powerball tickets, Maryland! A lucky player bought a winning second-tier ticket worth $2 million at Keller’s Liquors in the Baltimore City neighborhood of Hampden for the Wednesday, Dec. 10 drawing.

No other players matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing to capture the $1 million second-tier prize. No one won the Powerball jackpot, either, so it rolls to $70 million for the Saturday, Dec. 13 drawing with a cash option of $44.1 million.

The lucky Maryland ticket sold at Keller’s Liquors at 865 W. 36th Street missed only the Power Ball number. Check your ticket to see if it carries the winning numbers of 34, 44, 48, 54 and 55. The Power Ball was 10 and the Power Play multiplier was 2.

This latest $2 million win is the 13th second-tier Powerball win in Maryland this year. For selling the second-tier winning ticket, the retailer receives a $5,000 bonus. The winner has 182 days to claim the prize in person at Lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.

Nationally, more than 352,664 Powerball tickets were winners. Maryland saw 8,122 players win prizes ranging from the $2 million second-tier win down to $4. The 1,027 Marylanders who paid the extra $1 to add Power Play to the $2 ticket saw their prizes doubled.

Watch televised Powerball drawings at 11:22 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays on WBAL TV. Winning numbers are available at mdlottery.com and on your smartphone by downloading the free MD Lottery app.
