Baltimore Couple Claims First Silver and Gold Second-tier Prize

Wins $50,000 on new scratch-off

After watching The Secret, a movie which promotes positive thinking and encourages viewers to write a monetary amount down on a piece of paper and slip it under their pillows in hopes of winning that amount, a Baltimore couple did just that. To their surprise, they won $50,000 playing one of the Lottery’s newest scratch-off tickets, Silver and Gold.

“At first I wasn’t going to buy it but I saw that it was a new ticket and a little voice in me was nudging me to get it,” said one of the happy winners. “I started scratching the ticket and to my shock, I won $10,000. Then I scratched a little more and I kept winning. Once I realized I’d won $50,000, I thought about that movie I saw.”

The lucky winners told Lottery officials that although they’ve won smaller amounts playing Lottery games, this was the first time they’ve won anything this big. “We are thrilled that we won. Now we can help our kids with some of their bills and save a few dollars as well.”    Silver and Gold is one of the Lottery’s newest scratch-off tickets and has a $1 million top-tier prize. This was the first $50,000 prize to be claimed. There are currently three $1 million and nine more $50,000 cash prizes available.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Erdman Citgo on Erdman Ave. in Baltimore.
