Leonard McNamara from Baltimore had a personal 4th of July celebration after winning $30,000 on the Casino Cash scratch-off. He bought the ticket, and two others, on his way home from work on Independence Day.  He almost left without buying the Casino Cash ticket, but luckily, something told him to buy it.

“I had the three dollar signs, so I knew I won,” he said. “But when I looked to the right and saw the $30,000…I just could not believe it.”

The 68-year-old quickly put his winning ticket in his bag and quietly slipped out the door and headed home. Leonard placed the ticket in a drawer and did not tell anyone about his win until Sunday, when he shared the news with his sister and his brother-in-law. “We were so happy for him,” said his sister, Shirley Howard, who accompanied him to Lottery Headquarters to claim the prize.

The contract employee for BWI-Marshall Airport, who has not taken a vacation in seven years, plans to use some of the winnings towards a much-needed trip. Leonard also plans to pay some bills and save the rest. The winning ticket was purchased at 7-11, located at 4535 Falls Road in Baltimore.
