Takes home first Top Prize on the ticket worth $30,000
After years of playing the Lottery, a life-long Baltimore resident can finally say he hit the jackpot. The man had been fairly lucky recently winning $5 and $10 on the Hot Doubler scratch-off, so when he won a $30,000 top prize he was beyond excited.
The Baltimore man had purchased three Hot Doubler scratch-offs after a quick shopping trip last Friday morning. He had been purchasing two or three tickets every week with the hope that one day he could “win big.” Little did he know, last Friday would be his lucky day.
After going home, he and his wife sat down to check their tickets. When he began scratching the last ticket, he was pleasantly surprised to see that he had won the top prize. “The first thing I did was show my wife,” he said. “She didn’t believe me when I told her what we had won!”
The father of five has plans to share some of his winnings with his grown children. “The money came just in time for the holidays,” he told Lottery officials. “I’m definitely going to share some of the winnings with my five kids.”
The lucky winner intends to pay off his hospital bills and save the rest of his winnings for the holidays. The winning ticket was purchased at Belvedere Plaza Liquors at 5658 The Alameda located in Baltimore. This was the first top prize claimed on the Hot Doubler scratch-off.
