Jackpot rolls to $74 million for Tuesday’s drawing
Great news, Mega Millions players! One of you has a million reasons to smile this morning if you bought a ticket at the Royal Farms store at 2704 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore for the Friday, Dec. 11 drawing. You are Maryland’s newest millionaire!
Two players nationwide matched five of the winning numbers in the drawing to capture the $1 million second-tier prize. No one won the Mega Millions jackpot, which rolls to $74 million for the Tuesday, Dec. 15 drawing with a cash option of $46 million.
Maryland’s $1 million winning ticket carries the numbers 14, 20, 43, 54 and 69. The Mega Ball number was 5 and the optional Megaplier number was 4. Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and put it in a safe location. This is the 3rd $1 million winning Mega Millions ticket sold in 2015.
The retailer will receive a $2,500 bonus for selling the ticket. Our lucky winner has 182 days to claim the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
Maryland saw 39,425 players win prizes ranging from $1 million down to $1. The 3,642 Marylanders who paid the extra $1 to add Megaplier to the $1 ticket saw their prize increase by 4.
The last Maryland jackpot win came in March 2014, when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. That winning ticket was sold at Lady’s Liquors in La Plata. In 2014, the state celebrated six $1 million second-tier wins.
Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 states and jurisdictions. Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 259 million with overall odds of winning 1 in 15.
