Claims top prize on Cash Craze Doubler scratch-off
A pre-kindergarten teacher just went to the head of the class of Maryland Lottery scratch-off players, winning the $50,000 top prize on a Cash Craze Doubler instant ticket.
“I’m just so grateful,” she said. “I still can’t believe this is actually happening!”
Nicknamed “Rosie,” the Baltimore woman said she woke up every morning wishing and hoping to someday win a big Lottery prize. Deciding that “today was the day,” “Rosie” recently visited one of her favorite Lottery retailers to try her luck.
“I actually really enjoy Multi-Match and Bonus Match 5. Seeing that those are always such large jackpots, they just draw me in but I had a feeling that instead of getting one of those tickets I should get a scratch-off,” said the 67-year-old.
After reviewing the variety of instant tickets sold at Dundalk BP, “Rosie” selected a $2 Big Money Spectacular scratch-off and won $2. Rather than cash it in, she decided to be daring and bought a $5 Cash Craze Doubler instant ticket. Later, while she was at work, her husband scratched off her game and couldn’t believe what he saw.
He posed the question, “What would you do if you won $50,000?” to “Rosie” when she returned home from work. With the biggest smile possible, “Rosie” replied, “No way! You’re kidding me!” Her husband gave her the lucky instant ticket and the excited winner rushed to Lottery headquarters to claim her prize.
“Rosie” plans to use the windfall to pay off their mortgage. Because this was a top-prize winning scratch-off, Dundalk BP in Baltimore can join the celebration. The Baltimore County retailer located at 2100 Merritt Boulevard earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
