A Baltimore woman who purchased the Maryland Lottery’s $1 Million Fortune scratch-off hoping to find a top prize found herself yelling with happiness even though her win was a few zeros shy of $1 million.
The lucky lady, who said she wasn’t a regular player, won a $10,000 prize on the $20 ticket. After revealing her win on the instant ticket, the woman remembers yelling with excitement. “I was so very happy,” the woman said, “so very, very happy.”
The Lottery player’s biggest scratch-off win to date was a far cry from the five-figure prize she is taking to the bank. In fact, this marks the first time she has won anything over $100 and she certainly hopes it won’t be her last scratch-off success. To keep her ticket safe until her son could drive her to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore, our winner placed her ticket on her kitchen table.
The lucky lady said she plans to use her windfall to pay off a few bills and help a sick relative.
She found her Lottery luck at the Aberdeen Shell located at 1026 Middleton Road in Aberdeen. There are two remaining $1 million top prizes, six $50,000 prizes and 21 remaining $10,000 prizes on the ticket, which arrived in Maryland stores on June 30.
