Wins with Hit it Big scratch-off
A 39-year-old Baltimore woman wasted no time heading to Maryland Lottery headquarters after scratching her way to a $1 million win on a Hit it Big instant ticket!
She stopped to get gas at Royal Farms located at 2704 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore and walked out with a top-prize winning ticket. Within hours, the mother of five claimed her prize.
“I bought two other scratch-offs first and won $15,” said the lucky lady. “Then, I bought Hit it Big.” She scratched the winning ticket in the store and a celebration ensued. “The cashier was so happy for me! We just screamed and hugged.”
Next, the McDonald’s manager called her husband and other family members to share the unbelievable news. “Of course, I didn’t believe her until I saw the ticket,” said her husband, who accompanied his wife to claim the prize.
The grandmother of four said she plans to buy a house with her winnings. “I am so tired of renting,” she said. The winner also plans to buy a new car and share some of the prize with family members.
Selling the $1 million top-prize ticket in the Hit it Big game also benefits Royal Farms. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery. There is still one top prize remaining on the $20 ticket along with one $50,000 prize, 14 $10,000 prizes and 17 $5,000 prizes.
