Wins Logo Hunt Promotion Grand Prize
Monica Watts from Baltimore wasn’t sure what to expect when she saw “Maryland Lottery” on her caller ID a couple of days ago. Even after the Lottery official told her that she was selected as the $250,000 grand-prize winner of the Logo Hunt Promotion, Monica was still in shock. In fact, she called back to Lottery headquarters to make sure it wasn’t a joke.
“I really didn’t believe it until I came to the Lottery today,” said the 52-year-old. Her best friend and her sister had no trouble believing the news. “She is always lucky,” said her friend. In fact, Monica has won other Lottery prizes throughout the years, but never a prize as large as this. With her winnings, the Howard County Community College cashier is looking forward to buying a house. Monica’s ticket was randomly selected from more than 45,000 entries.
The $2 Million Logo Hunt Promotion ran from February 7th through March 13th, with the drawing taking place on March 22nd. Throughout the promotion, Lottery players randomly received one of three Lottery logo’s on their ticket. After collecting all three logo’s on non-winning tickets, players mailed them in for the chance to win cash prizes. In addition to Monica’s $250,000 prize, other big winners include Shirley Pittman from Silver Spring who won $100,000, Mike Higgins from Myersville who won $50,000 and 50 other Maryland Lottery players who won $1,000 each.
