Baltimore Woman Wins $30,000 Playing Blackout Bingo

Lottery Scratch-off a Favorite of 95-year old

Blackout BingoWith family by her side, a 95-year-old Baltimore woman visited Lottery Headquarters today to claim a $30,000 prize won playing the Blackout Bingo instant game.  She told officials that she’s long hoped to hit a big prize.  “It sure took me a while, but here I am!”

The life-long city resident is a big fan of the various bingo-style games the Lottery has issued over the years.  She gets four or five a week and shares them with her grown children.  In fact, her son was with her when she picked up two Blackout Bingo tickets last month.  “We couldn’t find a parking spot so we almost didn’t get the tickets,” she reported.  “We were about to go home when we finally found one.”  She kept one of her tickets and gave the other to her son.  “I waited until the next day to play the game,” the winner explained.  “And when I saw what looked to be a winner I called my son immediately.”

Today’s winner still works every day, believe it or not, driven there by her retired son.  “I love where I work and the people around me and it’s fun.”  She plans to keep playing her bingo tickets and expects to visit the Lottery’s claim center again in the future.

The lucky Blackout Bingo was purchased from Fenwick Meats in Cross Street Market, 1065 South Charles Street.
