Wins top prize on Sapphire Blue 7’s scratch-off
A Baltimore woman who just celebrated her 34th birthday last Friday received a belated birthday surprise in the form of $7,777. She won the top-tier prize when she purchased a Sapphire Blue 7’s scratch-off today. The winner told Lottery officials that she only decided to purchase the winning ticket after she won $50 playing Keno.
The winner, who chose to remain anonymous, said: “I decided to buy a scratch-off because I had a few more Keno games left and some time to spare. I was not expecting this. I am in such shock.”
The lucky winner is no stranger to winning. She also won $600 playing Pick Four just a few months ago. “This is so weird. I just started playing the Lottery just over a year ago. I never thought I’d win like this.”
The winner, who has worked as a phlebotomist for almost a decade, said she plans to pay bills, go shopping and then put the rest in savings. The winning ticket was purchased at the Pimlico Exxon on Park Heights Avenue in Baltimore.
