Baltimore Woman Wins with Numbers Seen in Dream

Claims $101,600 prize on two Bonus Match 5 tickets

About 24 years ago, a Maryland Lottery enthusiast dreamed that a man came to her and gave her a set of numbers. The Baltimore resident has played those very numbers, or a combination of the numbers, ever since in her Lottery games. Persistence pays off!

She hit with two different Bonus Match 5 tickets on May 2 and won a combined prize of $101,600.

The lucky woman won with the numbers 4, 8, 11, 21 and 27. The 64-year-old typically buys Lottery tickets for a week at a time at Linda’s Café, located at 1500 Woodlawn Drive inside the Social Security building in Woodlawn. A bit of confusion led to her double fortune.

On April 26, after playing her set of numbers on a ticket for seven drawings (April 26-May 2), she threw it in a box with some other old tickets because she didn’t expect a win. On May 2, forgetting she had already bought a ticket for that night’s drawing, the lucky player bought a single ticket for seven drawings from May 2 to May 8.

She won on May 2! After realizing she matched five numbers on one ticket, the Bonus Match 5 fan remembered the second ticket. The lucky lady grabbed it out of the box, saw she also won the $50,000 top prize on that ticket, and brought both of them to Lottery headquarters on May 3 to claim her prizes. Winning with number combinations on other lines pushed her total prize to $101,600.

“I just kept calling and worrying my husband,” said the player, when asked how she reacted after discovering her win. Other than sharing the news with her husband of 20 years, the winner hasn’t told anyone of her good fortune.—not even her children know!

Linda’s Café also benefits from our winner following her dream. The Maryland Business Enterprise Program store earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling two top-prize winning tickets in the game. Congratulations to our winner and to lucky Lottery retailer Linda’s Café.

This loyal player had two of the three winning tickets sold in the May 2 drawing. No one has stepped forward yet to claim the prize on the third ticket, which was sold by Pimlico Check Cashing in Randallstown. Bonus Match 5 is a winning game this year, having already delivered 21 $50,000 top prizes.
