Baltimore Woman Wowed by $100,000 Scratch-off Win

Finds top prize on WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET™ game

A great-great-great grandmother who plays Maryland Lottery scratch-offs when her adult sons bring them to her enjoyed a great-great-great big surprise when she played the new WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET™.

The Baltimore City resident claimed one of the scratch-off’s $100,000 top prizes!

Winning a large Lottery prize is a new experience for this lucky lady, who entered the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters with two sons by her side. One of them picked out the $10 game at Sunoco A Plus in Baltimore City “because it was new,” he said.

“He gave it to me and I messed with it,” said the 80-something retiree. Spotting a match with one of the game’s winning numbers, she revealed the big prize beneath the number 33 and showed the scratch-off to her sons. The happy trio then made their way to headquarters to claim the prize.

Some of her windfall will go toward home repairs, she said.

Also enjoying the lucky sale is the Lottery retailer. For selling a top-prize scratch-off in the game, Sunoco A Plus located at 4719 York Road will earn a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.

This is the second of eight $100,000 WILLY WONKA GOLDEN TICKET™ top prizes claimed since the game went on sale April 23. Players can enter their non-winning scratch-offs from this game in a second-chance promotion and try to win up to $1 billion and a trip to Las Vegas! Visit www.mdlottery.com/goldenticket for details.
