It’s been nearly a month and a half since the Bel Air woman purchased her winning Mega Millions ticket. But time hasn’t diminished her feelings of excitement and gratitude. Although she ruminated about missing the jackpot by just one number, she was delighted nonetheless.
The mother-of-three bought just one Quick Pick ticket for the May 1st drawing while getting coffee on her way to work. The following day, she checked her numbers at the retailer and discovered that she had won. “I was shocked,” said the healthcare professional. After quietly leaving the store, she hurried home to tell her husband of 34 years the good news.

The 57-year-old, who was accompanied by her husband to claim her winnings, postponed her trip to Lottery Headquarters so that they could do some planning. “This is our biggest win – ever,” she said. The winning ticket was purchased at 7-11, located at 1302 Churchville Rd. in Bel Air.
