Birthday Win Makes Prince Georges Woman Feel Like $100 Grand

Wins $100,000 Top Prize playing Green Bucks scratch-off

For most women, turning 40 is not always such a fabulous feeling, but a $100,000 scratch-off win can certainly put a bounce in your step. “I turned 40, but I feel 25 right now,” said the winner.

On Tuesday, the lucky lady stopped to purchase some scratch-off tickets. The store didn’t have the ticket that she was hoping for, so she decided on a $10 Green Bucks scratch-off instead. When she finished scratching the ticket in her car, she needed time to collect herself. “I scratched it and I looked at it, and then I looked at it and then I looked some more. I needed to sit for a while,” she said.

Returning home, she shared the news with her husband. She said she had won the Lottery and showed him the ticket. “When she said she’d won, I thought it was $30, maybe $100,” he said. He was shocked when he saw the $100,000 prize. “I had to get myself a drink and get myself together.”

The lucky winner initially kept the news of the win quiet, notifying only a few family members. She plans to use her windfall to purchase a home.

The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-11 convenience store located on Gorman Ave. in Laurel. The Green Bucks scratch-off still has four $100,000 top-prizes remaining.
