Boom! Hyattsville Man Enjoys Life-Changing Cash Explosion

A life-changing $1 million explosion of cash came to Jorge Vicente Salam Chub of Hyattsville after he played a Cash Explosion scratch-off.

Finds $1 million top prize on Cash Explosion scratch-off

A 28-year-old Prince George’s County man was grabbing lunch at a 7-Eleven in Columbia with his co-workers last week when he made a life-changing purchase. Adding a Cash Explosion scratch-off to his lunch gave the landscaper the game’s $1 million top prize!

Jorge Vicente Salam Chub finished lunch and decided to scratch off the $20 game before returning to work. The Hyattsville resident revealed the winning numbers first and then scratched the player’s numbers. Only one number, the very last one on the instant ticket, revealed a match with a winning number. That one match was all he needed! When he revealed the prize, Jorge was stunned.

“I saw all the zeros, and then realized it was $1 million,” he said. “I almost cried.”

The young man, still in shock, went back to work and finished his shift. Jorge had planned to claim the prize last week but decided to take his time to make sure he had everything in order. The happy winner claimed the astonishing prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore with a good friend and his father by his side. He chose the game’s cash option, which is less than the $1 million paid by annuity.

Jorge plans to use some of the winnings to purchase a house and to help toward a construction project at his church. He plans to bank the rest.

Also enjoying a “cash explosion” is the lucky Lottery retailer. The 7-Eleven #39563 located at 8850 Centre Park Drive in Columbia earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $1 million top-prize scratch-off.

You, too, can search for a lucky Cash Explosion scratch-off. The game has four $1 million top prizes remaining as well as nine $50,000 prizes, 39 $10,000 prizes and thousands of other prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
