Bowie, Cumberland, Pikesville, Upper Marlboro Players Get Lottery Wins

Mega Millions, Racetrax, Keno and $100,000 Crossword games pay off

Four lucky Maryland Lottery players recently claimed substantial prizes at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore: one $40,000 Mega Millions winner from Pikesville, a Racetrax player from Bowie who picked up $19,020, a Keno player from Upper Marlboro who scored $10,004 and a man from Cumberland who scratched an instant win ticket for a $10,000 prize.

The Pikesville player picked up his $40,000 winning Mega Millions ticket at the Pantry 1 Food Mart at 5100 Old Court Road in Randallstown on Jan. 4. He matched four of the five white balls plus the Mega Ball, which would have been a $10,000 hit. However, the lucky player quadrupled his prize by adding the $1 Megaplier option to his ticket. The Megaplier multiplier was 4, which increased the winning total to $40,000.

The lucky Racetrax player placed a 50-cent Superfecta Box bet on horses 1, 4, 7 and 11, with the Bonus multiplier play on Nov. 8 at the Corner Lounge, 105 Crain Highway in Upper Marlboro. He won $19,020 and claimed his prize Jan. 3. For selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $10,000 or more, Corner Lounge earns a bonus of $190.20 from the Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.

On Jan. 2, a lucky Keno player from Upper Marlboro was at the Ritchie BP gas station, 1322 Ritchie Road in Capitol Heights, and scored a $10,004 win. For selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more, the retailer picks up a bonus of $100.04, equal to 1 percent of the prize.

The Cumberland player who bought a $100,000 Crossword instant ticket for $10 at Allegany Liquors, 301 North Centre Street in Cumberland, scratched to reveal it was a $10,000 winner. The game has six unclaimed $100,000 top prizes and 17 more $10,000 prizes awaiting discovery.
