Takes Home Top Prize on Cash Blast Scratch-off
A Bowie man, cool as a cucumber, came into Lottery headquarters on Monday to claim his first-ever top prize. Accompanied by a close friend, the man was collected as he recounted the story behind his $100,000 Cash Blast win.
The man told Lottery officials that he had purchased two tickets last week and immediately scratched them in his car. The first scratch-off he played was worth $50, but as he scratched the second ticket, his numbers quickly began to match. The occasional player leaned over to show his friend the ticket and calmly told him that he had won $100,000.
“I was very cool and calm when I saw how much I won,” he said shrugging. “I showed my friend the ticket and went on with my day. I just couldn’t let myself believe it until the win was verified by the Lottery.”
The man’s friend agreed saying his friend was very composed despite thinking he had just won a large sum of money. “He was extremely serene when he told me how much his ticket was worth,” his friend said.
The winner waited to confirm his win with Lottery officials before sharing the news about the huge win with his wife. Now that he knows he actually did win the Cash Blast top prize, he plans to buy his wife a brand new car. His winning ticket was purchased from 7-11 #33255 at 9900 Greenbelt Road in Lanham. Two top prizes remain on the Cash Blast ticket.
