Brother’s Request Leads to Huge Win

Janet Baker - Cash Up Doubler

Janet Baker claims her second big Lottery win!

Retired Naval Academy Employee wins $50,000 Cash Up Doubler top prize

After winning $15,000 on a scratch-off in 2003, Millersville resident Janet Baker decided to take some time off from playing her favorite games. Thanks to an out-of-the-blue request from her brother to go to the store for some scratch-offs, the 65-year-old now has an extra $50,000 in her pocket, courtesy of a Cash Up Doubler scratch-off.

Upon discovering her winning ticket, she rushed home to tell her brother. “I checked my glasses three times before I actually believed that I won,” Janet said describing her reaction to the winning ticket.

Janet, a retired computer operator from the Naval Academy, who now works as a school bus aid for Anne Arundel County Public Schools is pursuing a commercial driver’s license. “I just like to keep busy,” Janet told Lottery officials.

The lucky winner has big plans for her winnings, starting with a reclining chair for her brother’s birthday, some dental work, a little bathroom remodeling and some bills to be paid off. Once business is taken care of, Janet plans to take her first vacation in 10 years to Las Vegas. The winning ticket was purchased at EZ Quick Food Mart located at 231 Mountain Road in Pasadena.
