Bummer to ‘Boffo’ – Frederick Woman Wins Big

Wins $10,000 Prize Playing Mega Millions

Mega MillionsRunning late for work, and not feeling great, a Frederick woman was clearly not having a good start to her day when she was pulled over by the police during her long commute. “I got a $60 ticket, so I was having a bummer of a day,” said the 41-year-old. After the traffic stop, the demoralized driver felt an oncoming headache and headed to the nearest convenience store for ibuprofen. While making her purchases, the occasional Lottery player also purchased a Mega Millions ticket.

Weeks later, as she was shopping at a supermarket she remembered her ticket. When the clerk checked her ticket, they discovered that she had won $10,000. “I started jumping up and down and made a lot of noise. Everybody in the store turned around,” she said.

Before this win the lucky winner had never won big with the Lottery. “I’ve always been someone else’s good luck charm,” she said. She has shared news of the win with just a few people. She plans to use her winnings to pay for bills, but will set $1,000 aside for ‘fun money.’

The winning ticket was purchased at the High’s convenience store located on Roxbury Mills Road in Cooksville.
