Bus Driver Rolls into $10,000 Maryland Lottery Win

Takes home Double Dollar Fortune prize

Double Dollar FortuneA Glen Burnie charter bus driver enjoyed a $10,000 break in his morning routine, thanks to the Maryland Lottery. He rolled into a 7-Eleven in Hanover to grab a drink, a snack and – after some thought, a few Lottery scratch-offs. He also picked up an expected passenger – Lady Luck!

The Anne Arundel County resident almost didn’t buy the scratch-offs because he hadn’t won the day before. At the last minute, the Dillon’s Bus Service driver changed his mind and picked up a $20 Double Dollar Fortune game that promised 26 chances to win.

Our winner arrived at his destination early and began scratching the ticket while waiting for his passengers. Before he knew it, the driver was $10,000 richer!

“All 25 numbers matched. I had to use a calculator to add them all up,” the 65-year-old said with a chuckle. “I signed the ticket right away and continued on with the rest of my day.”

This isn’t the first big win for this great-grandfather. He won $15,000 playing the Lottery’s Pick 4 game just a few months ago. A Dillon driver for 13 years, he plans to do the same with this prize as he did with the last one – deposit it into a money market account.

His lucky 7-Eleven is located at 1075 Dorsey Road in Hanover. The Double Dollar Fortune scratch-off still has many prizes available, including one $1 million, two $50,000 and five $10,000 prizes.
