Busy Bowie Man Looks Forward to Setting Sail

Claims instant seven-day cruise vacation for two on Cruise for Cash scratch-off

It’s been three months since the 53-year-old Bowie man revealed his cruise-vacation win. The busy hospital technologist finally found time to claim his trip, and time hadn’t dimmed his enthusiasm for his prize. “Wow! I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise,” said the father-of-three.

His wife, however, never shared his desire to set sail on the open sea. Her perspective has definitely changed since her spouse scored the seven-night cruise vacation for two, which includes a premium ocean view balcony stateroom; first class round-trip airfare to Florida; deluxe premium hotel accommodations for the night prior to cruise departure, $1,000 onboard credit and $500 spending money.

“This has pushed her,” said the winner. “She’s very excited.” The happy couple intends to take their cruise next July to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. “The ship, the sun, the beaches and islands, I’m looking forward to all of them,” said the delighted winner.  The winning ticket was purchased at the 7-11 #11666, located at 900 Merrimac Dr. in Takoma Park.

Partnering with Royal Caribbean International, the Maryland Lottery launched Cruise for Cash on January 10, 2011. The $5 scratch-off features seven $50,000 instant top prizes, as well as 31 instant cruise vacations and a second-chance contest.  Players may enter the contest by mailing in a non-winning Cruise for Cash scratch-off or by entering online at mdlottery.com/cruise.  The second-chance prize includes a nine-night cruise vacation for two, on any one of Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships departing from the Port of Baltimore.  The winner will also receive a $1,000 onboard credit. One drawing will take place each month through July.
