Cambridge Family Gets Emotional After Life-Changing Lottery Win

Claims $100,000 top prize on $100,000 Lucky scratch-off

A Dorchester County woman who decided to play big to win big accomplished her mission in a big way. She increased her scratch-off purchase to the $30 level and took two chances on the new $100,000 Lucky scratch-off. Now, she’s celebrating her $100,000 top-prize win!

The 43-year-old found her life-changing win at Wawa #583 located at 27605 Three Notch Road in Mechanicsville. She bought a $10 scratch-off and won $50. Feeling lucky, she reinvested those winnings on the purchase of the $30 $100,000 Lucky game. That scratch-off, sadly, didn’t come through with a prize. The Cambridge resident was determined to try again. She took one more chance at another $100,000 Lucky instant ticket and got the shock of her life.

After revealing her fortune, she went outside to her car to pump gas and that’s when she shared the great news with her three children. They were all crying tears of joy, the elated winner said.

“This win comes at the perfect time.” She and her children are looking for a new home and this prize will certainly help. The happy mom also plans to use her prize to take her children back-to-school shopping.

The Mechanicsville Wawa is also lucky! The store will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off of $100,000 or more. The $100,000 Lucky instant ticket arrived in stores on Sept. 20 with 65 $100,000 top prizes. This is the second top-prize win claimed in the game, which has 40 $5,000 second-tier prizes and more than 1.2 million other prizes ranging from $30 to $500.
