Latest scratch-off win marks fifth major prize
A 67-year-old Cambridge man rekindled his Lottery luck this week when he returned to the scene of a previous win to buy a scratch-off. The lucky man pocketed another major prize of $50,000, courtesy of the $1 Million Fortune scratch-off he bought at the Ocean Highway Exxon in Cambridge.
The lucky man’s streak of Lottery luck spans years and is a product of his love of Maryland Lottery games. He purchases games from several stores on the Eastern Shore and keeps winning! In August, the county government worker nabbed a $30,000 top prize on a $3 Money Vault scratch-off. He began his streak with a $50,000 win at the same store as his latest $50,000 win.
This time, the Dorchester County resident purchased a trio of $20 scratch-offs. He uncovered the prize inside the store after his scratching efforts revealed several spots that eventually totaled $50,000. His reaction, he said, was the same as with his earlier wins. The winner felt a wave of shock. This time, he took the clerk aside and quietly shared his success.
“I said, ‘Let me show you what you sold me,’ ” he explained. The happy pair made a copy of the lucky ticket to display in the store.
The loyal player plans to pay off some debts, save a bit of the prize and again share his windfall with his family. Want to visit his lucky retailer? Stop by Ocean Highway Exxon located at 324 Sunburst Highway in Cambridge.
The $1 Million Fortune scratch-off still has one $1 million top prize remaining along with one $50,000 prize and eight $10,000 prizes.
