Claims $30,000 top prize on Money Vault scratch-off
Excitement is still building for a Home Depot employee who recently cracked the code on a Money Vault scratch-off. The 53-year-old part-time cashier scratched one of the $3 instant tickets and won a $30,000 top prize, which set into motion planning for a tropical vacation.
The Prince George’s County resident was grocery shopping when she purchased the scratch-off from a Lottery vending machine at Giant supermarket in Oxon Hill. She didn’t discover her good fortune until she had returned home.
That night, the Oxon Hill woman scratched her ticket and was surprised when one of her winning numbers matched a prize. Then, she saw the prize was for $30,000! She had to fan herself to keep from fainting. Her husband was initially skeptical, but after he checked the ticket, the reality of the win began to set in for both of them.
The lucky winner plans to use the proceeds of her win to pay a few bills and to help her children. She and her husband also plan to treat themselves to a tropical vacation, but are still trying to decide between Hawaii or the Bahamas.
For selling the top-prize ticket, the Giant #341 located at 20 Audrey Lane in Oxon Hill will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery. There are two more $30,000 top-prize tickets awaiting discovery at Lottery retailers.
