Casino Cashier Finds Lottery Luck with Poker Scratch-off

Philadelphia resident claims $10,000 prize on Poker Showdown game

220-Poker-Showdown-ITVMA Philadelphia woman who spends her work hours interacting with casino players brought Lady Luck along with her on a trip to Maryland’s Eastern Shore. While in St. Michaels visiting a friend, the casino cashier of five years decided to quench her thirst at a nearby store.

The 45-year-old entered Acme Markets located at 114 Talbot Street and spotted a kiosk of Maryland Lottery scratch-offs. After considering her options, she decided to play a Poker Showdown scratch-off. The loyal player bought the $10 instant ticket and headed back to her friend’s house, where she scratched the instant ticket. Her $10 shot at Lottery luck had paid off with a $10,000 prize!

“I could not believe what I saw,” she said. The lucky winner was so excited she shared the great news with her friends and family. Unable to make it to Lottery headquarters right away to claim her prize, she hid her winning ticket under her mattress and checked on it every day until she could turn it in to Lottery officials in Baltimore.

The happy woman said she plays lots of Maryland Lottery games, including scratch-offs, Mega Millions and Pick 3/Pick 4 three to four times a week. This is her first big win! The Pennsylvania resident plans to use some of her prize to help out several family members. She also has vacation time coming up and can now book a trip somewhere fun to enjoy her winnings.

Be sure to visit your local retailer to check out the Poker Showdown game, which hit stores this summer. There are still three top prizes of $100,000 remaining along with 15 $10,000 prizes and 48 $1,000 winners.
