Claims $10,000 Deluxe Cash Crossword prize
Joann Jones and her friend Roy had plans to go to a movie one night last week, but decided to go to dinner instead. Thanks to that change in plans, the 61-year-old Salisbury woman is now $10,000 richer.
On their way to dinner, they decided to stop at the 7-Eleven on North Salisbury Avenue in Salisbury to cash a couple of Lottery tickets. While at the store, Joann purchased a few Deluxe Cash Crossword scratch-offs. The first three $5 tickets she scratched were not winners, but as she began to scratch the very last ticket, she noticed that she had won big. After stopping at a few different retailers to make sure she was reading the ticket correctly, she finally believed that she really was a $10,000 winner.
“This is by far my biggest win ever,” said Joann, who is a food server at an assistant living facility near her home. “I may have won a few bucks playing 5 Card Cash but nothing as big as this. I still can’t believe it.”
Joann, who plans to retire next year, is excited to use her winnings to purchase a new car.
Deluxe Cash Crossword is an extended play scratch-off. The game currently has two $50,000 top prizes remaining, along with six $10,000 prizes.
