Chevy Chase Woman Claims $725,000 Multi-Match Jackpot

Fifth jackpot ticket sold in 2014

Would you be able to sit still at your desk if you knew the Multi-Match ticket in your hands was worth $725,000? A Chevy Chase woman could barely believe her eyes Friday morning when she saw the winning numbers from the previous night’s drawing on her ticket.

“I knew someone had won because I saw the Multi-Match jackpot had been reset,” she explained. “I still checked my ticket on the website to see if I had won enough to play again.”

She certainly had! Her $10 ticket purchased at a 7-Eleven in Bethesda matched the winning numbers 1-6-31-33-38-41. Not believing her eyes, the woman showed her ticket to a trusted co-worker.

“We checked the ticket and just couldn’t believe it,” she said, laughing. “They eventually told me to go home early because I wouldn’t be able to concentrate on anything.”

She quickly shared her news with her husband, who works for the federal government. The couple met and drove to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim the prize.

They are still acclimating to the win and haven’t quite decided how to spend the prize. Some funds might go into home maintenance, they said. “We live in a historic home that always needs repairs,” the husband explained. “Between our home and helping our son, who is going to medical school, I’m sure we’ll figure something out,” said the lucky woman.

She bought the winning ticket at 7-Eleven #11727 at 5114 River Road in Bethesda.
