Megaplier option multiplies prize to $25,000
It’s a great day for a very happy lottery player from Clarksville, who won $25,000 on a Mega Millions ticket.
The 52-year-old Maryland Lottery player won his big Mega Millions prize by matching four numbers plus the Mega Ball in the July 28 drawing. For an extra $1, the lucky winner added the Megaplier to his ticket, and that decision boosted his $5,000 prize to $25,000 because the July 28 drawing included a 5x Megaplier.
The Howard County resident found his Lottery luck at Lark Brown Liquors located at 6590 Old Waterloo Road in Elkridge.
Tickets for the Mega Millions jackpot game are $1, with the option to add the Megaplier for an additional $1. The Megaplier multiplies all prizes other than the jackpot up to five times. The game allows players to choose five numbers from 1 through 75 and one Mega Ball number from 1 through 15. Mega Millions drawings are held twice a week, on Tuesday and Friday nights on WBAL-TV, so there are plenty of opportunities to play!
