Takes home $50,000 top prize
A Baltimore Orioles fan who is a loyal Maryland Lottery scratch-off player just hit it out of the park with a top-prize win on the Home Run Riches scratch-off.
The Columbia resident found his lucky instant ticket at his local Royal Farms store. The manager of a dry cleaning store said he likes playing the Home Run Riches game because it has no prize less than $10 – which is double the ticket’s $5 cost. The 64-year-old father of two adult children said the $50,000 prize is his largest to date and will go toward funeral expenses for his brother.
“God was looking out for me,” he said, adding that he also plans to pay bills with his prize.
His lucky Royal Farms wins big, too. For selling the top-prize ticket in the Home Run Riches game, the retailer located at 8755 Center Park Drive in Columbia receives a $500 bonus from the Lottery. The Home Run Riches game still has one top prize remaining, three $5,000 prizes and 10 $1,000 prizes.
