Claims $50,000 prize on ticket sold at same lucky Lottery retailer
A very calm Columbia man quietly claimed a huge Keno prize Monday morning that dwarfs his previous big win on the game back in 2005. The 57-year-old just won $50,000!
The lucky man was out with friends Friday evening at Nottingham’s in Columbia when he decided to play the popular game.
“I have some birthdays that I play, but I also watch the hot numbers too,” said the winner. That’s exactly what he did this time. He played a 7-spot game and added the Super Bonus multiplier feature, which was four. The IT specialist was astonished when he saw his numbers coming out: 3, 7, 17, 29, 59, 71 and 77.
“I won $12,500 playing Keno right here some years ago,” he said.
Shortly after confirming his win, the Howard County resident realized he was running late for dinner with his wife so he quickly left to join her. The father of grown children shared the news with his wife at dinner, but she was not surprised.
“She was happy, but is used to me winning,” he said, laughing. “She said I must have swallowed a horseshoe.”
The big winner claimed his $50,000 Keno win on Monday. He plans to use the prize money to pay some bills and boost his savings.
Also winning big is the Lottery retailer that sold the Keno ticket. Nottingham’s located at 8850 Stanford Boulevard in Columbia will receive a $500 bonus for selling a winning Keno ticket over $10,000. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
