Wins $50,000 on Gold Bar Bonus Scratch-Off
Gordon Iannetta was on his way home from work yesterday when he stopped to use the ATM machine at one of his favorite Lottery retailers. After using that money machine, he decided to use another and bought a $20 Maryland Lottery scratch-off from the Instant Ticket Vending Machine. That ticket revealed a $50 win, which prompted the Baltimore City firefighter to buy a Gold Bar Bonus scratch-off. Gordon proceeded to scratch the ticket while in the store. “I scratched the bottom first,” said Gordon. “It revealed a $500 winner.” He kept scratching the ticket and time after time the prize amount kept increasing, adding up to a grand total of $50,000. “When I scratched the top and everything matched, I just said ‘Merry Christmas,’” recounted the happy 52-year-old.
Upon his arrival home, Gordon phoned his girlfriend and a few others with his good news. He described his significant other’s reaction to his win, as “happy and shocked.” “I can’t repeat my friends’ responses,” he added with a laugh. While Gordon intends to keep playing Lottery games, he has no idea what his intentions are for his prize money. “I guess, just enjoy it,” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at Snowden River Exxon, located at 8251 Snowden River Pkwy. in Columbia. The Gold Bar Bonus scratch-off still has many more prizes available to be won, including one $1 million instant top prize and three more $50,000 instant prizes.
