Pennsylvania Woman Wins $10,000 Playing Fire & Dice
A 56-year-old Pennsylvania woman can thank her long commute to Virginia for a $10,000 scratch-off win. Deborah Seeger bought five $2 tickets on her way to work a couple of weeks ago. From those scratch-offs, she revealed a $2 win. Because she lives so far away, she stays a couple nights in Virginia. On her way back home, she stopped again in Maryland to cash the winning ticket. “Since I only had the $2 win, I traded it in for one Fire and Dice ticket,” she said. Deborah scratched the ticket on that weekend and thought it was only a $10 winner. But, with further inspection, the lucky player realized it was actually $10,000. “I was so surprised,” she said. “I immediately called my husband to tell him the good news.”
Deborah bought her two best friends, who both live in Maryland, with her to claim the prize. The bubbly trio was thrilled about the win. “She is going to buy us lunch and dinner,” said one of the friends. “And now she’ll be able to go away with us for my birthday,” said the other. “I couldn’t afford it before, but now I can go,” giggled Deborah.
The winner said she will also share her windfall with her husband. The winning ticket was purchased at Sheetz located at 428 N. Church St. in Thurmont.
