Glen Burnie woman wins with Superfecta bet
Cosmetologist Coreen Rattigan of Glen Burnie simply smiled when her Racetrax Superfecta bet put her in the Maryland Lottery Winner’s Circle. The Anne Arundel County resident beautified her financial situation with a hefty $35,671 win!
The 45-year-old found her good fortune on Sept. 10 at her local Glen Burnie Mobil, which sells Racetrax. She stopped in to fill up on gas and wound up filling up her bank account.
“I usually like to play when I have time and when I’m getting gas for my car,” she said. “When I played it, I left right after I got the tickets. I really didn’t find out until this past Sunday that I had won and then I just smiled.”
She placed a Superfecta bet that her four horses – 4, 8, 10 and 6 – would cross the finish line in that exact sequence. They came through for her on one of her 10 races. Earlier this year, the loyal player also won a $15,000 prize playing Keno. “I’ve been really lucky playing Lottery lately,” she said. “I certainly do feel blessed.”
She plans to pay off most of her bills with her winnings and then start shopping for a new car.
The Glen Burnie Mobil also has cause for celebration. The Anne Arundel County retailer located at 7200 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie receives a $356.71 bonus from the Lottery for selling a winning ticket of $10,000 or more.
