Claims $100,000 top prize on Crossword Deluxe game
Paying bills just got easier for a Dundalk family man, thanks to a $100,000 payday courtesy of the Maryland Lottery’s Crossword Deluxe scratch-off. Alberto Negron Jr. purchased his lucky $10 instant ticket while paying bills and found one of the game’s six $100,000 top prizes.
A communication installer for KCI, Alberto found his lucky scratch-off while waiting to pay bills at Dundalk’s Drug City Pharmacy. He waited until he returned home to scratch off the instant ticket and initially thought he won $500. The 30-year-old’s happiness magnified when he checked the ticket with the Lottery’s My Lottery Rewards app.
“I scanned the ticket and when it came up as a $100,000 prize, I almost passed out,” Alberto said. When news of his win made its way around the household, there was “jumping, screaming and excitement.” The lucky winner, who dubbed himself “Mr. Family,” said he might use his prize for a down payment on a home. He also plans to pay off an auto loan and help his family.
Drug City Pharmacy is located at 2805 North Point Road in Dundalk. The lucky retailer shares in the celebration, earning a $1,000 retailer bonus for selling a top-prize ticket in the game.
