Mason Daniel Shaffer plans to add some of his $10,000 prize to his “Dan the Man Slush Fund” and pay off some bills.

Mason finds win with Maximum Jackpot game

Daniel Shaffer knows when he feels lucky and that feeling came last week, so the Washington County mason sprang into action. As a result of buying a Maximum Jackpot scratch-off, the avid Maryland Lottery player infused his “Dan the Man Slush Fund” with the biggest prize of his life.

“You cannot play with scared money,” Daniel said. “I was feeling lucky so I purchased the colorful ticket and it turned out to be worth $10,000.”

The Boonsboro resident owns and operates a masonry business in the Washington County area. “I’ve been in business for 25 years.” said the 51-year-old, “but scratching that winning ticket was the best use of my hands and brought me the most cash as well.”

The father of three answered Lottery luck’s call at Battleview Market located at 5331 Sharpsburg Pike in Sharpsburg. Plenty of big prizes remain in the Maximum Jackpot game, including one $100,000 top prize, two more $10,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $10 to $1,000.
