Wins $50,000 Playing Sizzlin’ Spot Crossword Scratch-off
Going to her favorite weekend spot to buy something to drink will never be the same for one lucky Baltimore City winner. She bought three of the Sizzlin’ Spot Crossword scratch-offs because she had never seen the ticket before.
The 27-year-old went home, sat down at her dinning room table in front of the TV and began to scratch. “I didn’t believe I won…I thought my eyes were deceiving me,” the lucky winner admits. She took it to the retailer who later confirms it was a winning $50,000 ticket. “Oh my Gosh!” she exclaimed. After she stopped screaming the winner immediately called her mother. She asked her mother, “What would you say if I told you I just won $50,000 on a scratch-off?” “You’re lying,” her mother replied. Once she realized she did win her mother asked, “When are you going to cash it?”
The excited winner plans to pay some bills, go on a shopping spree and maybe buy a motorcycle with her new winnings. “My mother got me started playing,” the member of the Air Force said. “We would go out and my mother wouldn’t do anything else — she would just be mesmerized while scratching her tickets.”
The winning $50,000 Sizzlin’ Spot Crossword was purchased at the M&M Lounge, located at 2500 E Biddle Street in Baltimore.
