Baltimore man claims game’s top prize in March 20 drawing
Persistence paid off for a Baltimore City player, who won a top prize this month playing Bonus Match 5. The dedicated player’s $2 wager became a $50,000 top prize overnight when his ticket matched all five numbers drawn in the March 20 drawing.
The 74-year-old winner told Lottery officials that he has regularly played Bonus Match 5 for more than a decade. He has won a few smaller prizes here and there, but the winning ticket he bought from Pulaski BP in Baltimore delivered his largest prize to date.
“I’m just so happy after such a long wait,” said the loyal player. The lucky winner said he plans to save the prize for future family needs.
His lucky Lottery retailer, Pulaski BP, is also a winner. The gas and convenience store located at 3505 Pulaski Highway earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning ticket in the game. The Bonus Match 5 game has had 15 top-prize winning tickets in 2021.
