Montgomery County man finds game’s $50,000 top prize
A Silver Spring delivery driver struck gold on his route while delivering restaurant supplies around the Washington, D.C. metro. During a break, Brigido Contreras Nolasco scratched off a lucky Gold Rush X20 instant ticket, winning the $5 game’s $50,000 top prize!
The excitement occurred during a routine day of deliveries. When it was time for a break, Brigido met a few friends over a few scratch-offs. Each of them bought instant tickets. Brigido purchased a couple of the $5 Gold Rush X20 scratch-offs from Bethesda Beer & Wine. One of the 53-year-old’s instant tickets revealed a cash symbol, giving him a $50,000 win
“I was screaming and so happy,” said Brigido.
The lucky Montgomery County man told Lottery officials he plans to save most of his winnings for his children’s educational expenses. In addition, he will use a portion of the prize to celebrate his good fortune with his family.
Brigido struck gold at Bethesda Beer & Wine located at 8015 Wisconsin Avenue in Bethesda. For selling the $50,000 top-prize winning Gold Rush X20 scratch-off, the lucky retailer will earn a $500 bonus from the Lottery. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
