Roxie Hedgman of Edgewood wins with Bingo Multiplier scratch-off

The day she won $10,000 playing a Maryland Lottery scratch-off started out just the same as any other for Harford County resident Roxie Hedgman.

The dental assistant stopped at the Woodbourne BP in Baltimore, which is her usual place to buy gas and Lottery games. She selects scratch-offs at random and, on her lucky day, decided to give the last remaining Bingo Multiplier instant ticket on sale a try. After scratching off the $5 game in the store, the lucky Edgewood woman won and was told to claim her big prize at Lottery headquarters.

“I remained quiet and stunned,” said the 60-year-old. The only person Roxie has told – and plans to tell – about her good fortune is her daughter, who accompanied her to claim her prize. She plays scratch-offs a few times a month and has never won anything as big as $10,000!

A therapist and dental assistant for more than 20 years, Roxie kept her winning scratch-off safely locked away until she could come to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim her prize. The happy player plans to use her winnings to pay off bills.

Roxie’s lucky retailer is the Woodbourne BP located at 5320 York Road in Baltimore. There are still two $50,000 top-prize tickets remaining in the game as well as two more $10,000 prizes and over 300,000 worth of prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
