Fallston Woman Wins $100,000 Playing the Diamonds Scratch-off
They say “diamonds are a girl’s best friend,” and that saying proved true for a 49-year-old homemaker from Fallston. Accompanied by her 50-year-old husband, the lucky winner claimed a $100,000 prize today from the Diamonds scratch-off ticket.
The winner said that the sparkly Diamond ticket caught her eye on a recent stop at a gas station and she bought four of them. She won a small cash prize and immediately bought four more tickets. She scratched the tickets in her car and the second ticket revealed a $100,000 win. “My eyes popped out of my head,” she said. “I quickly signed the back of the ticket and had the cashier verify the win for me. I just had to hear that I really did win.” Officially convinced about her big win, she immediately called her husband who was stunned.
The winner kept the ticket in a safe for the weekend and went about life as usual. The two came to Lottery Headquarters to claim the prize today. “This is my wife’s payback for having such a big heart,” said her beaming husband. “She is always helping others.”
The lucky player plans to use the winnings to help her two children and to pay off some bills. The winning ticket was purchased at Edgewood Gas Station located at 1855 Pulaski Highway in Edgewood.
