Baltimore woman’s dream comes true with $8,888 win
Many people dream of winning the Lottery, but those dreams rarely align with reality. This week, a mysterious dream shared by both a Baltimore woman and her daughter seemingly foretold her $8,888 Magic 8 Ball scratch-off win just a few days later.
The 69-year-old Baltimore woman told Lottery officials that her daughter had a recent dream that she shared with her mother. The details were murky, but her daughter said she remembered dreaming about a swimming pool.
Later that night the lucky winner had a similar dream, but beneath the pool water she could see a series of 8s. When she awoke the next morning, she scratched a $2 Magic 8 Ball ticket she had purchased the day before at Joe’s Place Bar & Liquor Store at 6200 Reisterstown Road in Baltimore. When one of her winning numbers matched up with a prize of $8,888, it was hard for her to believe she wasn’t still dreaming.
The fortunate dreamer hurried to a Lottery retail location to check her ticket and was surprised when the retailer told her she had won big. One sleepless night with the lucky ticket stashed in her Bible was all the lucky woman could stand before claiming her prize at Lottery headquarters.
The Baltimore resident plans to use her windfall to replace an aging automobile, but also plans to help fulfill another dream. Her grandson has been invited to Europe for tryouts in a professional American football league. She plans to help him pursue that dream by funding his travel.
The Magic 8 Ball ticket launched on June 22, and four of its $8,888 top prizes are still waiting to be found at Lottery retailers across the state.
