Early Father’s Day Keno Gift for Proud Dad

Virginia Man Wins $40,000 Maryland Lottery Prize

A 48-year-old small business owner seemed a bit mysterious as he entered Lottery Headquarters to claim a big Keno prize. But, as he began to tell his story, he opened up and it was clear how excited he was and what he wanted to do with the winnings.

Keno is the only game the quiet winner plays. On this particular day, while on his lunch break, he won $4,000 playing his favorite game. “I used some of those winnings on some more Lottery games,” said the Arlington, Virginia man. By doing so, he then turned his prize into a $40,000 win. Excited, but discreet, the winner let the remaining games play on his ticket and then headed back to work.

The lucky winner has one daughter away at college. “She means everything to me,” he said. Even though Father’s Day is this Sunday, he won’t see his daughter until the Fourth of July holiday. “She’s a wonderful daughter and I plan to do something nice for her,” he smiled.  He plans to save the rest of his winnings.

The lucky Keno ticket was purchased at Eastover Liquors, located at 4909 Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill.
