Local government employee wins big on 50x the Cash game
An early rising Washington, D.C. woman made $50,000 even before she arrived at her local government job on Monday morning! The 54-year-old discovered an eye-opening 50x the Cash scratch-off with a $50,000 second-tier prize.
She dashed into Zip In Food Market in Hyattsville on her way to work and bought the popular game with the only $10 bill in her purse. The grandmother scratched off the $10 instant ticket, looking carefully for a match as she revealed the numbers one by one. When one number matched, she scanned the instant ticket on the store’s counter-mounted ticket checker and saw a strange message.
“When I saw that message on the screen, I decided it was time to reveal the prize on the scratch-off,” she said. The winner told Lottery officials that her heart skipped a beat when she saw the prize. Overcome by excitement, the lucky lady called her husband to share news of the unexpected blessing.
The hard-working couple says the windfall will go toward the purchase of a truck to help with their grandparenting duties.
Her lucky scratch-off hailed from Prince George’s County retailer Zip In Food Market located at 3599 East West Highway. The 50x the Cash scratch-off still features three top prizes of $100,000, five more $50,000 prizes and a dozen $10,000 prizes. Other members of the Multiplier Family of Games are the 5x the Cash game, 10x the Cash and 20x the Cash games.
Players can enter non-winning Multiplier tickets into a second-chance contest on My Lottery Rewards, where the cash prizes include $5,000, $10,000, $20,000 and $50,000. The final drawing takes place May 1.
