Eastern Shore Cashier Rings Up Scratch-Off Success with $1 Million Winner

Salisbury Man Claims Money Multiplier ticket’s top prize

Money MultiplierAn Eastern Shore cashier decided to treat himself to a $20 Money Multiplier scratch-off in May after he saw a customer purchase the bright yellow ticket. That lucky decision led the Salisbury resident on an exciting journey to the Maryland Lottery’s Baltimore headquarters, where he claimed the ticket’s $1 million top prize on June 28!

After he scratched off the ticket that day and unveiled his big prize, the man immediately called his brother to share the good news. “My brother came over to look at the ticket because he really didn’t believe me,” the 33-year-old said, chuckling. “I’ve only shared the news with my brother and his sister-in-law. No one else knows.”

The elated winner plans to keep his win a secret, too. Accompanied by his brother and niece, the man quietly made the two-hour journey to Baltimore to claim his prize. He waited a month to do so, he said, because “I wanted to get my finances in order.”

Despite winning $1 million, the lucky man doesn’t plan to radically change his routine. For example, he headed straight back to the Eastern Shore after claiming his winnings in order to get to work on time.

“I’m going to make this money last for the rest of my life,” the man said. “I’ll buy a few things that I need, but I’m going to be responsible with the rest.”

The happy man bought his winning ticket at the Salisbury Quick Stop located 2513 N. Salisbury Blvd. in Salisbury.
